The latest installment of the Dances of Vice party series, Les Secrets du Boudoir, celebrated the sexy and gorgeously nonsensical genius of old – fashioned lingerie. Partiers wore their finest corsets, fishnets and garter belts to Brooklyn’s Montauk Club, where they were treated to burlesque from Rita Menweep, tap dancing from the Minsky Sisters and singing from the terrific, Edith Piaf-esque Luna Tart—plus a band called Grandpa Musselman and His Syncopators played all the greatest hits of the flapper era.

Lingerie parties can be exciting and fun and here are some tips for throwing a lingerie party of your own. Your lingerie party should be tailored to fit your own wants as well as the attendees. They do not need to be one dimensional. You can hire a consultant for a reasonable hostess fee or get creative on your own.

Be adventurous and select a theme to set the overall tone of the party. Bachelorette or bridal showers are great excuses to throw a party but really you can have one any time you want.

You can feature sexy lingerie and erotic gifts if you like or make it more demure. Serve finger foods and cocktails or punch and water. Hire a stripper for the event and even a DJ if you want to go all out. Whatever you decide, make it a night to be remembered by all!

Throwing a bridal lingerie party is not much different than your normal bridal shower. First make sure you are the only one throwing one and someone else is not planning one too.

Of course this leads us to the invitations, make sure guests know what kind of party it is and do not bring their daughters along. Another tip – you may want to leave moms and future mom-in-laws off the guest list (unless of course they are really hip to the idea) and just invite friends and some co-workers.
