Upon arriving at the website of Sheeab, I discovered the term was a little bit misleading as it was not live lingerie models displaying the purchases. Instead it is a 12 second pre-recorded video displaying the lingerie item from all angles. To be honest I was a little bit surprised as the 12 second pre recorded video provides less information than the Zoom factor on the picture. I ended up playing one video three times to comprehend what was being said.

Gail and Gabreille Friedland are the owners behind this new style of lingerie shopping and their inspiration was Las Vegas. They wanted to add the personal touch and a bit of fun into lingerie shopping. They claim the videos give more of a visual idea of how the lingerie will look but to honest I was no the wiser. Well done girls for trying to move shopping in a new direction however I would of liked to see longer and more informative videos.

Current items are the traditional black, red which incorporate a lot of see through  lace,  bows and ties in a sexy cheeky kind of way. Particularly original are the Jessica Basque, Milly bra and pants as well as the Charlotte Chemise. If ever you needed a complete image overhaul then Beauty night is definitely sexy lingerie to be looking at.

The good news is that Beauty night is still experiencing more than average sales and will continue with their expansion plan into stockists and e-commerce shops. It seems that sexy lingerie is still the top of our list of priorities when it comes to being all woman.

Karen Millen originally started out in 1981 with just 100 meters of white cotton however today the company oversees twelve designers and are known international especially for their evening wear. With shops in America, Scotland and Paris we can not help but praise Karen and her designers. However I await with anticipation for the day when their lingerie collections become a shoppers delight.

The ladies lingerie business has seen Victoria’s secret make profits of over one billion dollars in a year. It is hard to believe that the company was started by  a man called Roy Raymond in 1977. His idea was to offer a relaxing, embarrassment free environment for men to buy ladies lingerie for their wives or girlfriends. After building three stores,  he sold the company on and in it’s time it has gone from strength to strength. It is now the number one retailer in the USA of ladies lingerie.

Will the success of Victoria’s secret ever end? I don’t think so. The company has a strict business plan to dominate the world of ladies lingerie. They have a set idea in their head of who their customers are and what their reputation to the outside world will be.   Well done to Victoria’s secret .  I hope they have many more fruitful years to come.

“We’ve so gotton off our heritage…too sexy, and we use the word sexy a lot and really have forgotten the ultra feminine,” says Sharen Turney, chief executive at Victoria’s Secret.

She goes on to say, “I feel so strongly about us getting back to our heritage and really thinking in terms of ultra feminine and not just the word sexy, and becoming much more relevant to our customer.”

They have already begun to change their adult lingerie line as we saw on a Super Bowl commercial where a woman was dressed in, not sexy, but a more demure, modest and less revealing lingerie set.

Sales have dropped 8% since before the holiday season and now executives want to make some changes. Although they did blame the drop in sales on economic downturn and products that have been aimed at a younger audience.

So, how sexy is too sexy for lingerie? Has Victoria Secret become too flashy and extravagant in its lingerie line? What appeals to the average consumer? It was an invite only for the Super Bowl 42 soriee as more stars showed up for this event than any other over the weekend in AZ. Clips of the Victoria Secret Fashion Show played on large flat screen TV’s at the Taste Ultra Lounge Club. The party was hosted by lingerie models Selita Ebanks, Adriana Lima and Karolina Kurkova.

During the Super Bowl Victoria Secret bought a spot to showcase its lingerie, which they hope will be a big seller come Valentine’s Day.

Victoria Secret is the biggest name in the fashion world of lingerie and with models like Heidi Klum, Miranda Kerr, Selita Ebanks and performances by Seal, the Spice Girls and Will.I.Am of The Black Eyed Peas and attendees like Eva Longoria, Lauren Conrad, Hayden Panetierre and Ryan Seacrest you are sure to have a hit show.

It was an eagerly anticipated event that did not disappoint for fancy and outrageous lingerie fashions. If you want to see the hot lingerie modeling show it will be airing on CBS on December 4.
