Mayor Recalled After Skimpy Lingerie Pic
The people in Arlington, Oregon are mostly keeping quiet about their mayor, a woman, being recalled for posing in skimpy lingerie on her MySpace page. Mayor Carmen Kontur-Gronquist was narrowly voted out of office by a vote of 142-139 in late February.
She had posed for the picture in a lacy bra and panties standing on a fire truck before her election and she thought there was no reason to take it off of her Web page. She has now closed all access to the site.
Some are saying it was simply not appropriate for a mayor to pose in such skimpy wear while others saw no problem with it whatsoever. Some think it was her disagreements with issues about water and a local golf course that really got her booted from office.
